I am not very comfortable with this proposal because have read many articles and some blogs about run-flat tires which quote BMW officials stating that there are serious issues raised by switching from one type of tire to the other. So, the dealer is offering to do to things after market: (1) Put new run-flat tires on the car and (2) Reconstruct the cargo area so that the compartment under the cargo area floor (which currently folds up to allow access to the spare) is removed and a new lower floor be installed (which would be lower and apparently look like standard cargo area floors with rails, etc.). What I am asking here are views about how to remedy the situation. Thus, I am not asking opinions about whether or not I should have "run-flat" tires. (Again, the dealer and I specifically discussed this and he sent me an email that the car would have "run-flat" tires.) I realize that this is a much debated topic, but I wish to have "run-flat" tires on the car. I just learned about 3 days ago that the dealer made a mistake (this is well documented and admitted to in a conversation) by designating in the order that I wanted "non run-flat" tires. The dealer ordered the car built pursuant to my specifications. I just purchased a 2018 X3 xDrive 30i two weeks ago.
